I see it happen all the time, and though I’ve seen it before, it’s still heartbreaking every single time. People fall into the calorie trap, thinking that healthy foods won’t affect their weight. Well-meaning individuals—just like you—fall into the trap of thinking they can eat all the “healthy” foods they want without consequences. They believe that if something is labeled “organic,” “sugar-free,” or “whole grain,” they’re automatically doing their body a favor. But in reality, excess calories, regardless of where they come from, can still lead to unwanted weight gain.
